How do I study Thai yoga and Thai massage at Wat Poh?

I’m a tourist in Bangkok, Thailand who wants to study Thai massage and Thai yoga during my stay here. What’s the cheapest way to get from Rama IX (Soi 3, near IT Mall) to Wat Poh and back?

From the IT Mall you easily and cheaply get to Wat Po by taking the Saen Saeb canal boats from right next to the Petchburi MRT station (one stop away from the Rama IX MRT station at the IT Mall). The canal boats will take you all the way to the Golden Mount Temple, from there you can bus, taxi, tuk-tuk or even walk to Wat Po. Another option is to take a combination of the subway and skytrain to the end of the Saphan Taksin Skytrain line, from the Central/Sathorn Pier you can take a water taxi up the river right to Wat Po.
I don’t anything about the massage school, but I would imagine that someone there speaks English.

Is it hard/easy to hit personal training target at mega gyms like Planet Fitness, Ftiness First, True Yoga etc

I always felt curious whether it is safe to pursue a fitness career in big mega fitness centres. However i always heard of rumours that if you can’t hit personal training sales target, you will be out… I have only work in small fitness clubs, and i have the necessary certification in fitness instructing and personal training. Perhaps, can someone here also share with me the success factor of working as a personal trainer in big mega gyms…..?

I’ve worked at a couple of these mega gyms. I can tell you with all honesty that you are better off in small fitness clubs (which is what I’m doing now). While there are more potential clients in a larger franchise like Bally Total Fitness or LA Fitness, there is likewise more pressure to sell training. And yes, many gyms do require you to hit a certain sales quota; thus, personal training becomes more about being a sales person and less about giving people what they actually need. Moreover, the competition between trainers (who are working for measly pay most of the time anyway) gets fierce. I got out of the larger franchises for this reason and run my own business now, and also work through a local smaller fitness club. And, I’m a 100 times happier.
