I had a baby 3 months ago and I just cracked my rib doing plough pose in yoga:( what can I do?

I am breast feeding so I can’t take the vicadin that my doc prescribed and I’m allergic to Advil!!! what can I do to ease the pain:(:( I want to get back to holding and carrying my little baby! it hurts to breath, cough, laugh, it’s even hard for me to breast feed!! ANY suggestions would be helpful. Ice it? will heat help? THANKS

Why can’t I do Shavasana (the yoga pose) right?

In my yoga class, Shavasana is really hard for me. It’s difficult for me to lie flat on my back without back pain, and my legs naturally lie out to the side, not straight up and together. Is there any particular stretch or something I can do to make it easier? Thanks! Namaste

well, it is a resting pose, and I have always heard that you are supposed to relax your legs, not have them straight up and together (although my training is in ashtanga and slow-flow…maybe you are working in another style??):

You can also modify and have your soles of your feet together or have a rolled-up blanket beneath your knees if that feels good.
The point is that you are “letting go” in savasana, not adding tension…the hardest part is relaxing your mind!
