Most times, the future teachers of Yoga has a strong base in Yoga, but sometimes, originally derived from a related field, such as martial arts, pilates, dance, gymnastics and fitness. This is fine, but be prepared for a "learning curve" and not wait to learn all about Yoga in a formation of Yoga teachers intensive course. Even if you "shut up" in an ashram for months, you should realize that learning yoga is a long journey of life and not a race.
Now if you come from a related field – has a lot more mental work, of making a long-term time student of Yoga. Hatha Yoga is a way Yoga's physical, but being athletic is not as important as knowledge of a yoga teacher should possess. So what should you know about to become a teacher yoga? Below is a list of what a Hatha Yoga teacher should know to succeed in teaching yoga.
Anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, should always be covered during a session of yoga teacher training. Safety of students of Yoga is a particularly important issue for those who will be teaching yoga. Students always are physically different, and the practice of Hatha Yoga can be made to suit anyone – regardless of age or physical ability. Any who wants to teach Yoga must have a thorough understanding of how the physical body.
Asanas are postures held during yoga practice. Hatha Yoga Teachers need not have knowledge of hundreds of asanas to teach a Yoga class, but should be very familiar with 26 to 100 different yoga postures – depending style of yoga. Yoga teachers should be able to design a lesson plan using these positions, variations, and many other aspects of the teaching of Hatha Yoga.
Yoga teachers should know Asana modifications to their students. Sometimes, this could advise a student to use a yoga block, strap, pillow, chair, ball, blanket, or any other prop for proper alignment and safety. Other times, this might be taking a yoga student an alternative variant of an Asana.
Yoga teachers should be familiar with contraindications for Asanas, warning that may be related to a specific yoga posture. This is very important when working with yoga students who are pregnant, have high blood pressure, or have a specific ailment.
Yoga teachers should take the time to become familiar with each student and his health in particular. This means that the investigation of health conditions that Yoga students have and maintain the top of their own learning. After becoming familiar with a disease, learn how you can help, but never give medical advice.
No yoga teacher should always put a student at risk. The body of a student of Yoga can not be forced into a position that a Yoga teacher feels is correct. In contrast, the body is gently guided to their natural limits, no pain and little discomfort.
