What is an exercise program that would best benefit me?

I need to lose at least 30 pounds by mid-May. [I have already lost a good 50 pounds or more, but then at Christmas I gained a little and things got in the way, so now I need to start again on the weight loss]
For two reasons: Prom dress! and more importantly, because I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome a while back and my doctor said I need to get down to about 180 lbs. I need to lose another 30 to get there.

Do pilates and/or yoga help you lose weight?
I’m much more of a laid-back person and I want to start exercising, so I really would like to participate in something relaxing but also one that helps you lose weight.

I understand about dieting as well, I just need help with the exercise.

Yup, yoga and pilates will help you.
Just make sure you’re getting the right kind of yoga. Such as the “yoga fit” series, or the one that Bob from the biggest loser does. I can give you the link.

But you have to be consistent. Do the workouts at least 3 times a week!

You need to be VERY serious if you’re planning on doing this. Eat a lot of celery when you get hungry, apparently you actually lose weight while eating it, because you have to chew so much and it’s practically just water (unless you put stuff on it, then it can be fattening). Do the most intense cardio possible, preferably outside especially if it’s hot so you sweat more. On days that you just can’t run, lift weights. the blood rushing inside you will help lose weight. Don’t starve yourself, but eat less than usual and try to be very strict on yourself, and if you would be willing only eat greens and such for the week. Don’t do this after wards, though. You need your protein that greens don’t always provide.

To add on what a user before me… I think Dudh Wala or something was his name. Circuit trainining is when you work more body parts (like doing arms, back, chest, maybe legs, and abs with one workout session) when you lift, it REALLY helps lose weight when you aren’t running.
